Bestiari, erbari, lapidari is a documentary “encyclopedia,” divided into three acts, each focusing on a single subject: animals, plants, and stones. The film is a tribute to those “unknown” and, in some ways, truly alien worlds made up of animals, plants, and minerals, which we too often take for granted.
Closely interconnected, the acts of the film form a unique dramaturgical development, through three different staging approaches, each paying homage to a specific genre of documentary cinema. The film is a sentimental journey through the culture, science, and art of our old continent.
