Archivio Aperto Professional is the festival’s industry area dedicated to industry professionals involving primarily archives, directors, producers and archive producers, created in collaboration with CNA Cinema and Audiovisivo Emilia-Romagna as part of the CIAK project, the CNA project connecting film and audiovisual professionals, co-financed by the Emilia-Romagna Region.
In its 16th edition, the festival is launching a call for filmmakers and authors/authors to support the development of works that focus on the creative reuse of archival materials with a cash prize of 1,000 euros. A maximum of five projects will be selected, and each one will be presented in front of a jury of experts – composed of representatives of Italian archives, producers, and authors – who will also provide advice to each of the participants, in a one-day pitch that will take place on October 27 during the Archivio Aperto festival.
The selection is aimed at film projects over 40 minutes in length at an early stage of development that involve at least 40 percent use of archival material.
There is no genre or thematic limit but special attention will be given to works that tell personal or family stories in the interweaving of private and public history.
